Welcome to Bromarf

Bromarf is a stunning seaside village in a beautiful rural location 125 km west of Helsinki. Whatever you are interested in an active nature holiday or in a quiet few days in a traditional Finnish cottage Bromarf has something for everyone.

The best way to get to this hidden gem is by car. There is also a regular bus service from Helsinki (2.5 hours) or you can take the train to Tammisaari and then a bus or taxi to Bromarf (35 km). In addition, there is a new guest harbour for boats.

Bromarf is not just a village with the church in the middle and a beautiful seaside harbour. It is a fairly large peninsula with an incredible coastline with numerous bays and islands. If you come by car or bicycle there is a good network of roads which invariably end by the sea near small settlements or summer houses.

Also, during the summer and autumn on the main road to Padva peninsula you can stock up with locally produced fresh vegetables from the roadside stalls. And do not miss the almost one kilometre long Padva beach, child-friendly with its shallow waters.

Bromarf Village

In the village you can find a friendly corner shop. If you are planning to stay longer and cannot find your favourite food items in the shop they will be more than happy to order them for you. You can also order wine and spirits against a small delivery fee. In the village there is a new church built in 1981 as the more than 200-year-old wooden church burnt down one winter night in 1979. Also a library in an old wooden villa, bank (no cashpoint), coffee-shop with a postal service, hairdresser, restaurant (summer only), a small museum with local items and Villa Mechelin, an incredible 100-year-old wooden jugend villa and of course the village beach opposite the library.

During the summer months there is a fantastic market every Friday afternoon and Saturday mornings - a unique fair not to be missed by locals and tourists alike! In the market you can sample locally grown fruit, vegetables and herbs, fish caught on the same morning or enjoy a cup of coffee in the market cafe. There are also stalls and an old red barn for local arts and crafts, selling everything from homemade jumpers and art works to Bromarf T-shirts.
